Is this procedure for me?
With so many variables, no two breast conditions are the same, so Dr Dilip Gahankari takes an very individual approach to each breast correction procedure, addressing the conditions that are unique to you.
Typically, breast correction surgery is very similar to breast augmentation, however tuberous breasts require breast reshaping, areolar balancing, and breast augmentation. Furthermore, breast reconstruction surgery is performed with an incision through either the nipple, or in the fold of the breast. In many cases, an implant will be used to correct a tuberous breast.
Similar to breast enlargement, there are also many different options for the placement, shape and size of the implant used.
Pre and Post-Op Care

Typically, breast correction surgery is performed as a day surgery and you will remain in hospital for a couple of hours after the procedure.
The first days after your surgery you may experience some pain, however Dr Dilip Gahankari will prescribe you pain medication appropriate to your medical needs.
Bruising, swelling and some discomfort is expected and can last around two to three weeks, depending on your individual circumstances.
It is advised to rest for the first two weeks after your breast correction procedure to ensure the best possible results.
Light activity can typically be undertaken after two weeks and patients typically are back to full capacity after 6 weeks, unless advised otherwise by Dr Gahankari.
Your individual surgical options and recovery times will be discussed in full during your initial consultation for breast correction surgery.
What Results Can I Expect?
Results will vary for each patient. The breast correction surgery is designed to result in symmetrical breasts.
Each surgery will be different, however it is typical to experience swelling and bruising for some weeks as well as over or under sensitive skin, however this will subside over time.
The final result of your breast reconstructive procedure may take some months to settle and become evident, however you should see a noticeable difference immediately following surgery.
