Is a body lift procedure for me?
Factors such as extreme weight loss can result in sagging skin and fat deposits in body areas such as the mid-section, lower torso and upper legs, as well as the abdomen, waist, inner/outer thighs, buttocks, and/or hips. A body lift procedure is designed to remove excess skin and fat.
What is a body lift procedure?
A body lift procedure varies with each patient, depending on the patient’s body type, skin type, desired outcome and other factors. Results and recovery will also vary for each patient. Typically a body lift procedure entails creating an incision that follows the upper and/or inner thigh to the waistline. In more extensive surgeries, the incision may run around the waist and lower back. Adjustments to the buttocks and thighs require an incision to be made at the crease of the buttocks.
During the procedure, following the incisions, excess skin is removed, as are excess, underlying fat deposits. Finally, the skin is pulled taught and sutured into the new position.
Liposuction may also be used in conjunction with a body lift.
What results can I expect from a body lift?
A body lift is an extensive and significant surgery. This surgery is tailored by Dr Gahankari to each patient, and as such the surgery, recovery and results will vary from patient to patient. This surgery is designed to remove sagging skin and excess fat deposits.
Patients who have undergone this significant surgery require plenty of rest and limited movement to recover. The scars resulting from the incisions are permanent. While they typically fade over time, the scars will typically always be visible.
Are dermal fillers for me?
As we age, some areas of our face may lose volume, in particular the cheek areas. This may result in a ‘flattening’ of the upper cheek area, and subsequent sagging of the skin. Dermal fillers may be used to restore or recreate fullness in certain areas of the face. They may also be used to create increased fullness in the lips and provide some reduction in wrinkles (although Lip Enhancement and Anti-Wrinkle Injectables offered at Advanced Aesthetics may be more suitable).
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are generally composed of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and is typically easily absorbed by the body. The body’s natural levels of hyaluronic acid decrease with age.
Dermal fillers are made of a non-animal origin materials. They are designed to attract and retain water, creating plumpness in the skin. Dermal fillers are typically injected below the skin’s surface in order to smooth the visible appearance of wrinkles, plump areas such as the lips, and restore or create fullness and volume to facial areas such as the cheeks. It is important to remember that each treatment will be tailored to the individual and results and recovery will vary from client to client.
What results can I expect from dermal fillers?
Results and recovery will be different for each client. Typically, side effects, such as minor redness and swelling are generally resolved within 24 hours. Bruising may typically take a week to resolve. Results will be different for each client, however they are typically visible immediately, and generally last between 4 to 6 months, depending on the filler, the technique and the area that is being injected.
Is an eyebrow lift procedure for me?
Each brow lift is unique to the individual client, and results will differ. A brow lift is designed to elevate the position of the eyebrows and eyelids and tighten the skin on the forehead, reducing the visibility of wrinkles facial lines, including lines between the eyebrows.
What is an eyebrow lift procedure?
A direct brow lift typically sees an incision made into the skin in the crease of the forehead or into the hairline.
An endoscopic brow lift, which is typically considered a less invasive procedure, sees a tiny viewing device called an endoscope inserted through several small incisions behind the hairline.
What results can I expect from an eyebrow lift?
Each procedure will be tailored to the individual, and results will vary from person to person. However, an eyebrow lift will typically raise the eyebrows, while tightening the skin on the forehead to reduce visible lines on the brow, between the eyebrows and the bridge of the nose.
Is a breast reduction procedure for me?
Large breasts can have a significant impact on some men. The weight of the breasts can impact on the shoulders, neck, and back. Large male breasts can also have an impact on self-esteem and the ability to do certain physical activities. A breast reduction, also known as gynecomastia surgery, is designed to reduce the size of the breast.
What is a breast reduction procedure?
Each procedure will be tailored to the individual patient, and results and recovery times will vary from patient to patient. The gynecomastia procedure typically involves the removal of excess fat, tissue and skin, reducing the size and reshaping the breasts. There are a variety of surgical techniques for the male breast reduction procedure. Dr Gahankari will assess your needs during your initial consultation and determine the most appropriate technique for you.
Dr Gahankari typically also uses liposculpturing during the procedure to further refine the resulting size and shape.
What results can I expect from breast reduction?
Each surgery will be tailored to the individual patient, and results will vary. The surgery will result in the immediate reduction of the breasts.
Bandages are typically applied following surgery to aid the healing process and minimise the movement of the breasts.
Is laser hair removal for me?
Excess hair can be distressing for many men. Laser hair removal is designed to remove unwanted hair.
What is laser hair removal?
Different skin types (lighter skin, darker skin, sensitive skin etc) require different machines. Advanced Aesthetics uses BBL and ND Yag 1064 laser machines for hair removal. Your Advanced Aesthetics laser technician can advise on which machine will achieve your desired hair removal results most effectively.
What results can I expect from laser hair removal?
Results will vary for each client and are determined by a variety of factors such as skin type and hair type. Regardless of which machine is used, you can expect to require between 6 and 10 treatments at 4 to 6 weekly intervals. After the completion of your treatments, the hair will typically be removed permanently, however this will vary for each client.
Is a fat transfer / grafting procedure for me?
As we age, a reduction in skin hyaluronans, collagen and elastin can cause the skin to loose elasticity. Combined with lifestyle factors such as exposure to sun and toxins, the result is often facial wrinkles, deep wrinkles or furrows in the forehead, small wrinkles or crow’s feet around your eyes, or a deep, vertical frown line between your eyebrows. A fat grafting procedure is designed to transfer fat from areas in which you have excess fat, such as the outer thighs. This fat is then injected it into the designated areas that may be lacking in volume.
What is a fat transfer / grafting procedure?
Fat is harvested from one part of your body, then washed and purified, and then carefully re-injected with specially designed needles into the areas that need augmentation. It may be necessary to repeat the fat grafting procedure several times to achieve the desired result.
What results can I expect from a fat transfer / grafting procedure?
This safe, long-lasting and well-tolerated procedure produces natural-looking results. The areas to which the fat was transferred to will appear softer and fuller, giving you a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
Are anti-wrinkle injections for me?
As we age, a reduction in skin hyaluronans, collagen and elastin can cause the skin to loose elasticity. Combined with lifestyle factors such as exposure to sun and toxins, and repeated facial movements the result is often excessive facial wrinkles, deep wrinkles, furrows in your forehead, “crow’s feet” around your eyes, or deep vertical frown lines between your eyebrows. Anti-wrinkle injectables can help reduce or een eliminate these lines and wrinkles.
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
In keeping with government regulations we are unable to name the specific products used for cosmetic injections. The anti-wrinkle injections we use at Advanced Aesthetics are made up of a naturally occurring toxin that specifically weakens muscles when injected into them. The nerve impulse that initiates muscle contraction is blocked thereby weakening these muscles.
What results can I expect from anti-wrinkle injections?
Once facial expression muscles are weakened adequately, the appearance of wrinkles and facial lines is typically significantly reduced. You will typically notice significant results within a few days, with the final result sometimes taking up to 10 days.
Is a tummy tuck procedure for me?
Loose skin, fat deposits and lower tummy bulges often develop as we age. Abdominoplasty, or a tummy tuck is the surgical removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, and the repositioning of abdomen muscles into a tighter formation.
An abdominoplasty typically involves creating an incision at the lower abdomen, and possibly a second incision at the navel. Liposculpture may also used in conjunction with an abdominoplasty to refine and contour the tummy and to reduce skin damage and the length of the scar.
What results can I expect from a tummy tuck?
Results and recovery will vary from patient to patient. This surgery is designed to remove excess fat and skin, and result in a flatter, firmly contoured stomach area.
While recovery is different for each patient, typically, normal activities can generally be resumed within 2 weeks, although a pressure garment must be worn for some weeks to support the repair of the muscles and reduce swelling and bruising. It may take up to a year for the body to completely adapt to the new abdominal configuration. With proper diet and exercise the results of the surgery will be striking and long lasting.
Is a hyperhydrosis procedure for me?
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition where sweat glands cause excessive sweating.
Hyperhidrosis can affect any part of the body where sweat glands are found, however, the most common areas are the underarms, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Advanced Aesthetics offers an injectable treatment solution.
What is a hyperhydrosis procedure?
In keeping with government regulations we are unable to name specific products used for excessive sweating injections.
The injections we use at Advanced Aesthetics are made up of a naturally occurring toxin that is injected into the designated area. A very fine needle is inserted into the area and the substance injected. This targets the sweat glands, temporarily slowing down their function, and preventing excessive sweating. Most patients typically don’t require pain medication, but your doctor may administer a topical anesthetic or oral analgesic for the more sensitive areas such as the palms and feet.
What results can I expect from a hyperhydrosis procedure?
Results and recovery will vary from patient to patient, however typically there is minimal discomfort after the treatment and you are able to resume normal activities immediately. While results and recovery timelines will vary for each patient, you would typically expect to see and feel the initial results 2 to 3 days after the procedure, with the best effects about a week following the procedure.
Is eyelid surgery for me?
Dark circles or bags under the eyes, excessive skin or wrinkles surrounding the eyelids can all occur as a part of ageing and may possibly be particularly prominent in males. Eyelid surgery (known as blepharoplasty or a bleph) is a procedure that is designed to reduce dark circles or “bags” under the eyes, and remove excess wrinkles. This procedure can also address drooping upper lids, puffy bags above and below the eyes, extra upper-eyelid skin, and hanging lower-lid skin.
What is eyelid surgery?
Each surgical procedure is tailored to the individual and can differ from patient to patient. Dr Gahankari performs blepharoplasty using local or general anaesthesia. He will assess and mark the excess eyelid skin before the procedure. Typically, the incisions are made within the natural creases of the eyelids. The excess skin and muscle is removed along with any fat bulges. He will then suture the incisions with very fine sutures. In case of lower eyelids, excess skin and fat is removed conservatively to prevent pulling on the lower eyelid. In lower eyelids the scars are typically located just below the eyelash margin. In some instances, laser technology may be used in conjunction with the procedure to help smooth lower eyelid areas. The procedure may also include anti-aging injectables to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
What results can I expect from eyelid surgery?
Each patient is unique, and results and recovery will vary from person to person. The healing process for this procedure is typically slightly longer than most other forms of cosmetic surgery as the skin in this area is very fragile; however, the results are typically long-lasting, but again it is important to remember that results will vary for each patient. This procedure may result in some blurry vision for a few days, temporary swelling at the corners of the eyelids, and milia (tiny whiteheads) for some patients.
The fine stitches are typically removed in about 5-7 days. Post-operatively the results are usually noticeable after a week when the swelling and any bruising have subsided, but it may take up to six weeks to see the full results.
An extremely rare, though possible, complication of eyelid surgery is blindness.
Dr Gahankari will discuss the procedure and the associated risks with you during your initial consultation.
Is a facelift procedure for me?
A facelift (Rhytidectomy) is designed to tighten and elevate the skin in the face, lower face and jawline area.
What is a facelift procedure?
A facelift (Rhytidectomy) is a surgical procedure designed to smooth and firm the facial skin, remove excess fat, tighten the underlying muscles, and re-drape the skin around the neck and face.
Dr Gahankari will tailor each procedure to suit the individual patient. Typically, the standard procedure for a traditional facelift involves making a small incision just inside the hairline, following the contour downwards to the front of the ear and then upward behind the ear to the hairline. The procedure may also be combined with an eyelid reduction (blepharoplasty) and a brow lift or neck lift.
What results can I expect from a facelift?
Results for this and every surgical and non-surgical procedure we offer at Advanced Aesthetics will vary from patient to patient. However, typically a facelift will result in tighter skin in the face and lower face area. Visible lines around the corner of the mouth appear lifted, with the creases between the cheeks and lips diminished and the skin around the jawline tightened and lifted. The longevity of these results will differ with each patient and can be impacted by a host of factors, including lifestyle factors. Typically, patients can expect their rejuvenated look to last for up to 10 years.
Is a rhinoplasty procedure for me?
A rhinoplasty is designed to alter the proportion of the nose to the rest of the facial features, to reduce the size of a nose, to address damage from an accident or injury, or to treat nasal deformities that may have been present since birth. A rhinoplasty is also sought to help with breathing difficulties.
What is a rhinoplasty procedure?
Rhinoplasty often involves reducing the size of the nose by removing and refining and sculpting the nasal tissues.
At your pre-operative consultation, Dr Gahankari will examine the proportions of your nose, and perform an intra-nasal examination to understand the most appropriate procedure for your needs. A rhinoplasty may only be a relatively small – although still significant – procedure if it undertaken to correct a small issue such as a bump on the nose. A “complete rhinoplasty” on the other hand, involves reshaping the entire nose. Both procedures still involve risk and results will vary for each patient. Regardless of the type of surgery you will undergo, the potential risks and complications will be discussed in detail with you during your consultation.
What results can I expect from a rhinoplasty procedure?
The results are entirely unique to each individual. Most rhinoplasty is performed as a day surgery. Nasal packs, if used, are typically removed within 24 – 48 hours, although any external splint is typically worn continuously for at least 10 to 14 days. Most of the swelling of the nose and eyes typically subsides in 2-3 weeks but subtle bruising and swelling is reduced gradually and may take up to 6 months to 1 year to fully subside. Results will vary from patient to patient.
